Great information for those wanting to go low carb!

I saved this info. from this group:
If you don't have enough electrolytes in your body, your liver can NOT convert fat to ketones. So If you don't have enough electrolytes in your body, your liver can NOT convert fat to ketones. Sodium is essential in the conversion of fat to ketones.

You need to think of your body as a portable saltwater aquarium. We are not 70% water like we've been told forever. We are made up of 70% SALT water. Cellular function literally grinds to halt when you don't have enough electrolytes for the cells to do their thing.

First thing you need to do is the lime/salt shot. Do this every morning when you first get up

½ lime squeezed
¼ teaspoon of colored salt
1 to 2oz of water

Shoot that and then follow with 24oz of water immediately. Then you need to add colored salt to every cup or bottle of water you drink. You should be aiming for 100oz of water a day. Also, I tried the whole Smart Water/Electrolyte water thing for a while. They don't contain nearly enough for me. Just read the ingredients. You need far more than they provide.

Once you have that down, it's time to cut down some foods. Fruits, peanuts and dairy all need to go away for a while. Increase your healthy fats! Coconut oil, avocados, bacon are all good choices. The human body will replenish 90% of its cells in 90 days but you must give it the tools needed to function at that level.

Finally, if you take meds for thyroid, they may counter act some things. I'm not a doctor and would never get into that side of things so make sure your doc watches you and adjusts if necessary.

Weight gain, "vertigo" and jittery are all signs of not enough electrolytes. If you're still drinking soda, what soda? If it's a diet soda it will still spike your insulin and cause weight gain on the form of water retention. Again, you need electrolytes for this.

I'd also watch the "healthy" grains. They aren't really healthy in any way. Your body still converts them into glucose and that will spike insulin.

It's interesting looking back in human history. We don't see arthritis, diabetes and other diseases creep in until the agricultural revolution about 10-12,000 years ago. That is when we see a definite influx of potatoes, wheat and other grains into the everyday life of people. Why? Because sugar is an inflammatory. Doesn't matter what form it comes in. I'm not saying to totally change your diet and throw away your pantry. Let's not get crazy. Simply cutting your carbs in half up front is very easy and doable IMO. Work your way into the diet and the results will astound you mature of the wedding
Adding pink Himalayan salt to your water will cover electrolyte needs. I have no idea what the amounts are. I add between ¼ and ½ teaspoon to every bottle of water I drink. I also take the lime/salt shot every day at least once. Sometimes twice depending on how I feel.

It is very important you use a good colored salt. If it's white, it's not salt. It's processed. Even white sea salt should be avoided IMO. Again, they've processed it to make it that white. Pink Himalayan salt can be found on Amazon for a great price. I buy 5 pound bags for $15.
